Rent arrears planner

What happens if I fall behind, and how do I stop it?

Falling behind on rent follows a fixed sequence: a warning notice with 28 days to pay in full, a 28-day termination notice if it is not paid, and 28 days to refer that notice to the RTB. Enter the rent, the arrears and any dates, and the planner draws the sequence and a payment plan against it, with the free supports in order.

Where you are

The rent, the arrears, and any notice

The planner never suggests stopping or withholding rent. The landlord does not have to accept a plan, though an adjudicator will see that one was offered.

Information, not advice. This tool applies the published rules to the dates and figures you enter. It does not say whether a notice is valid, whether a deduction is lawful or what the RTB will decide: those turn on facts and evidence the RTB weighs.
